The golden safety rules

Screens are fun and useful, but we use them safely. Remember these five rules:

Keep private things private. Never share your home, your school, your phone number or your password with strangers online.

Tell a trusted grown-up. If anything online makes you feel scared, sad or confused, tell a parent, teacher or elder you trust.

🤝

Be kind. Only say things you would say to someone's face. Kind words online, always.

🔍

Check before you believe. Not everything on the internet is true. Check with a book or a teacher.

⏳

Balance your time. Play outside, talk to family, rest your eyes. Screens are one part of a good day, not the whole day.

Spot the Trick (scams)

Bad people sometimes try to trick you with messages. Read each message. Is it a TRICK or is it OK?

Make a strong password

A password is like the key to your house \u2014 keep it secret and make it strong. Type a pretend one (never a real one!) and see how strong it is:

💡 A strong password is long, mixes letters, numbers and signs, and is not your name or birthday. Never tell it to anyone except a parent.

Be kind online

Words on a screen still reach a real person's heart. Turn each unkind message into a kind one:

💡 Before you send a message, ask: Is it true? Is it kind? Is it needed? If not, do not send it.
